Planning permission granted for further 635 homes at Kings Hill development

The developers behind the Kings Hill development in Kent have welcomed the Treasury’s £6bn commitment to extend the Help to Buy scheme to 2020 as they secure planning permission for 635 further homes.

Since Help to Buy was introduced just over two years ago over £11million has been loaned in the borough of Tonbridge and Malling, one of the highest levels in the county – and a significant proportion of that has been for homes at Kings Hill.

Susan Davies on behalf of Kings Hill New Homes, a marketing forum which includes Kings Hill developer Liberty Property Trust, Kent County Council and house builders currently developing on site – Bellway Homes and Hillreed Homes, said: “News that the scheme is being continued is very encouraging, especially in view of the next phase of development,”

“We are seeing a lot of interest in buying new homes at Kings Hill, indeed, the latest Crest Nicholson scheme has sold out. Our ongoing commitment to quality and providing the amenities and jobs on the doorstep that create a true community continues to attract home buyers.”

Planning permission has just been granted for a further 635 much needed homes, a new primary school which opens in September – the third at Kings Hill - an extension to the community centre, additional allotments, trim trails and sports pitches for Kings Hill Sports Park. Land will be provided for the development of a place of worship. High speed trains to London are now operating from nearby Snodland.

Kings Hill is a contemporary garden village where masterplanning developer Liberty Property Trust and Kent County Council are creating a vibrant community where people can have a live/work/play lifestyle.

Kings Hill has almost 2,750 new homes together with shops and cafes – including Waitrose and Costa Coffee, schools and extensive community, leisure and sports amenities. There are also over 200 businesses in the business park providing some 5,000 jobs on the doorstep.
