The Epstein Theatre awarded ‘Best Social Media Prescence’

The Epstein Theatre has been awarded ‘Best Social Media Presence’ at this year’s City of Liverpool Business Awards.

More than 250 guests attended the annual awards at Sefton Park Palm House, which were held by Downtown Liverpool in Business in association with Liverpool Vision.

The iconic Hanover Street venue picked up the prestigious accolade for their innovative and interactive use of social media across a number of platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

General Manager at The Epstein Theatre Rebekah Pichilingi said: “We are thrilled to have won this award - social media is such an important aspect of our business, as it allows us to connect with our customers and followers on a more personal level.

“There’s always so much going on at the theatre so platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are great for us to keep everybody updated and informed in real time. Social media is such an amazing tool for a business like ourselves and we have a combined following of over 8,000 people - it’s very rewarding that our messages have such a wide reach.“

The City of Liverpool Business Awards (COLBA) are in their eleventh year and celebrate the most forward-thinking, entrepreneurial and creative businesses across the city.

Rebekah added: “The awards have become an integral date in the city’s award ceremony calendar and year on year see such a high calibre of entries. With this in mind we are honoured to have beat off some stiff competition to be crowned as a winning finalist.

“We would like to sincerely thank everybody who voted for us and visited the theatre over the years – we can’t wait to see what the future holds and look forward to hopefully expanding our trophy cabinet.“

Frank McKenna, DLIB Chief Executive said: “The City of Liverpool Business Awards are one of the highlights of the calendar in the city and it’s great to see so many businesses taking part. The standard of entries was incredibly high and that’s testimony to the flourishing business community in Liverpool. The shortlist of entries alone shows the breadth of talent in our region and the awards are a perfect way to celebrate and recognise the contribution these businesses make to the city region’s economic growth.

“I am pleased for all the nominees, and winners, because, after coming through the toughest recession in living memory, it is these businesses that are the true heroes and the real story behind the UKs climb out of the downturn. They have all made an invaluable contribution to wealth and jobs creation in Liverpool, and they deserve huge congratulations and credit for their tremendous efforts.“
