Accountants raise £1400 for charity at Leeds 10K

Accountants at Baker Tilly in Leeds have helped to raise over £1,400 for charity after completing the Leeds 10K corporate challenge in record time.

All 22 team members, made up of auditors, tax advisers, corporate financiers and insolvency practitioners from Baker Tilly’s Leeds office, completed the course in under 65 minutes, placing the firm ahead of all the city’s other accountancy firms. Some team members also recorded personal best times.

All the money raised is being donated to the Hollybank Trust– a Yorkshire-based charity specialising in caring for children and young adults with multiple and profound disabilities.

Jim Whittaker, Corporate Finance Partner at Baker Tilly in Leeds and Trustee of Hollybank who led the Baker Tilly team said:

‘Our regular Monday evening training sessions along the canal paid off and I’m pleased that everyone in the team finished in such a good time. Most importantly, though, our efforts have help raised much needed funds for Hollybank Trust and I’d like to thank everyone who sponsored us and cheered us along on the day.’

Julie Shaw, Head of Fundraising at the Hollybank Trust said:

‘I am delighted that Hollybank was represented in such a fantastic way - thank you to all the runners and to everyone who has sponsored them.’

Many of the firm’s runners are now in training for their next event - the Leeds Abbey Dash on 15th November.
