Stoke business takes on new parts manager
At the age of just 35, Stoke Audi’s new Parts Manager already has 19 years of experience under his belt.
Ben Wallin joined Stoke Audi in May, part of the family owned Swansway Group and located in £6 million state of the art premises next to Stoke City FC’s Britannia Stadium, just a mile from j15 of the M6.
After leaving Meole Brace School in Shrewsbury at the age of 16, Ben joined a local motors business as an apprentice parts advisor.
“I’d always loved cars, even when I was at school,” he said, “and could usually be found messing around in them. I especially had a passion for Land Rovers.
“But I never fancied getting my hands dirty so to speak, so I knew the mechanic / technician route wasn’t for me. I was lucky enough to get an apprenticeship at 16, then I qualified at 18 and by the age of 20 I was a Parts Manager.”
Ben has worked for a number of local dealerships over the years, and his last role was as regional parts manager. Landing the job as Parts Manager at Stoke Audi is a dream come true for Ben, who is thrilled to be joining the Swansway Group.
“I’m really excited to be part of the Swansway family business - the company has an amazing reputation.
“This is an incredibly exciting time for me and as I’ve never worked with the Audi brand before I’ve a lot to learn. The facilities and working practices here at Stoke Audi are second to none and it’s fantastic to be part of such a busy department with a big workshop and online shop. I’m looking forward to further developing my career with the Swansway Group.”
In his spare time, Ben, who lives in West Felton, near Oswestry, enjoys off-roading and spending time with his two children aged 10 and seven.
