Places to Visit in North Wales
North Wales is rich is history, natural beauty and friendly locals. It is a leading tourist destination for those looking for an ideal road trip or those looking for a unique place to visit in Britain. North Wales is home to a host of top attractions, towns and villages, there is plenty to do for the whole family, ensuring that you have a memorable and enjoyable holiday at any time of the year.
One of the top places to visit in North Wales is Conwy. Conwy is the finest medieval town complete with more than two hundred listed buildings. The main attraction in this beautiful town is the famous Conwy Castle, one of the best persevered medieval castles in Britain complete with gateways, towers and some of the most breath taking views.
Llandudno is another place to visit in North Wales that shouldn’t be missed. Llandudno is a seaside resort with two sandy beaches, a beautiful promenade and a lovely and welcoming town. There is also the cable car, a chance to ride above the town and soak up the spectacular scenery and enjoy the town views with the advantage of a bird’s eye view.
Moving away from Conwy and Llandudno, you can visit the picturesque village of Llangollen. Once you’ve enjoyed some retail therapy at the abundance of boutique shops and stores, you can make your way to the canal and take one of the narrow boats for a sightseeing experience to remember. Many of the narrow boats service drinks and food with a knowledgeable team that can tell you more about the area.
One of the first things you may think of when you hear North Wales is Snowdonia. Snowdonia is a very popular tourist attraction from those looking for a day of adventure to those wanting a leisurely walk in some of the most pristine and spectacular surrounds.
Snowdonia provides you with a choice to enjoy the spectacular beauty of fourteen peaks of green rolling hills and mountains. This area offers an extensive number of experiences from mountain biking down some challenging trails to leisurely walks and hikes. Here you will also find Tree Top Adventures, a chance to enjoy some adventure courses or sky rides. They also accommodate juniors with a number of junior trails for the children to enjoy.
Caernaifon Castle is another place to visit when you are looking for places to visit in North Wales. This beautiful castle dates back to 1283 and has twelve impressive towers and two gates. It is well-preserved and a leading tourist attraction for everyone that visits the area each year.
Then there is Portmeiron. This is a lovely day experience, set on the peninsula, you find yourself in a small Italian style village complete with beautiful gardens, fountains and coastal paths. If you can you should spend the night to really take the time you need to explore the area and what it has to offer.
Places to Visit in North Wales leaves you with no shortage from the amazing Swallow Falls to the impressive Conwy Castle. With so much to do and see, excluding special events, concerts and productions, you will find that there is something for the entire family to take advantage of and enjoy when staying in the area.
Traveling to and from North Wales is just as easy. Whether you take a driving trip with the family or you choose to use the train, you will find that getting to and getting around North Wales is easy and fun.
