Sheffield-based internet service provider partners with Fusion Hive

Fusion Hive, a unique innovation centre on Stockton’s Northshore, has partnered with a Sheffield-based internet service provider.

High-quality 100Mb fibre internet access will be made available at the centre after Fusion Hive appointed ASK4 to provide the broadband for its clients in the digital and creative sectors.

Since ASK4 was founded in 2000, the internet provider has experienced rapid growth and now boasts a 120 strong workforce and with a turnover in excess of £14m per year.

ASK4 provides high quality fibre internet to multi-tenant buildings, and specialises in the student, business and private rental sector.

Operating across the UK and also in Spain, Ireland and Western Europe, ASK4’s client list includes student accommodation at Birmingham and Leicester Universities, private student accommodation operators Liberty Living and The Student Housing Company, Sheffield-based software company WANDisco and the Stanley Grange development in Liverpool.

Fusion Hive is set up with the needs of its creative and digital tenants at its core and ASK4 is already working with tenants to offer them the best possible internet and technology provision.

Fusion Hive, which is managed and operated by Teesside University, gives members the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded businesses and provides access to the University’s significant business networks, expertise and training, as well as sourcing potential funding.

Jon Thornhill, ASK4 Director, said: “We are delighted to be involved in the development and operation of Fusion Hive and we are very much looking forward to the building opening for business.

“We already work with some excellent clients and it is a real boost for us adding the Fusion Hive development to our portfolio.

“This is very much the next step in achieving our plans to build our business, but also ensure the quality of service to our clients.”

Samina Kousar, ASK4 Account Manager, added: “We will be working with each Fusion Hive tenant individually to ensure we will not only meet, but exceed their requirements. ASK4 has the capability to give tenants the best possible opportunity for business growth and development.”

Karen Race, deputy director of The Forge at Teesside University, also commented: “High-quality internet provision is absolutely essential for our clients, many of whom are working at the forefront of technology.

“ASK4 have an excellent track record of outstanding customer service and we are delighted that they will be working with us at Fusion Hive.”
