Top five steak houses in Leeds
Leeds has arguably established itself as one of the most diverse destinations in the country, and as Yorkshire’s capital city, there is a reason why it is never short of visitors all year round.
Leeds’ popularity has also resulted in a boost in the local economy as more and more businesses are attracted to what the city has to offer. Among the most successful sectors is the city’s hospitality scene as there is an endless choice of restaurants, bars and good ole’ fashion Yorkshire pubs.
But emerging as one of the city’s most favoured and popular eateries, is its wide range of steak houses, serving perfectly-cooked meat from around the globe. So for all the meat-lovers heading to Leeds, who will find themselves spoilt for choice, I will take a look at the city’ top five steak restaurants.
Gaucho Leeds

Located in the heart of Leeds’ financial district, on Park Row, Gaucho Leeds offers a meaty range of beef sourced solely from the Pampas plains of Argentina. Opening in 2010, Gaucho’s impressive menu includes an A la carte, lunch option, a sunday lunch menu and the unique ‘electro brunch’, along with an extensive range of wines and other alcoholic beverages.
However, along with Gaucho’s high-quality offering and its well-informed members of staff, comes a hefty price tag, so make sure you are willing to spend a little extra cash for an experience of the Argentine cuisine.
Fazenda Rodizio Bar & Grill

Another restaurant with South American origins, Fazenda offers customers 15 different South Brazilian cuts of beef, pork, lamb and chicken. The restaurant, located in Granary Wharf, also offers an extensive buffet of gourmet salads and fresh cut vegetables, and a variety of traditional side dishes to complement the meats.
Unique to Fazenda, customers control their services with a small green and red-side chip. The green side signals the chefs to bring out skewers of sizzling meats to the table, while the red side represents the stopping mark.
Founded in Leeds in 2010, Fazenda recently invested £500k in the refurbishment of its Granary Wharf site, which will extend the restaurant’s size to 6,500 sq ft.
Cattle Grill

For those meat-lovers, who aren’t keen on breaking the bank, then the Cattle Grill is the place for you. Opening its doors on Assembly Street in 2011, Cattle Grill uses direct from market or importer to ensure all produce is fresh and at best possible quality.
The moderately priced menu, which includes every ‘Cow’ and ‘Pig’ produce imaginable, is the perfect middle-market steak house.
Midtown Grill

Midtown Grill, situated through Bar 1871 on Boar Lane, aims to bring the taste of a New York steakhouse to Leeds. As well as serving locally sourced Yorkshire steaks - from farmers in Nidderdale, within the Yorkshire Dales - Midtown Grill also offers customers a wide range of chops and seafood.
The American style, laid-back restaurant is connected to the 1871 Bar & Lounge and the Leeds Marriott Hotel, which is suitable for anyone dining out in Leeds to businessmen and women making a short city stop.
