HCM on course to exceed growth targets for 2015

A Yorkshire-based construction and interiors firm that counts Asda, Arla Foods, Britvic, Burger & Lobster, Coca Cola, General Electric, John Lewis, Nando’s, PepsiCo UK and Next amongst its client base is on target to exceed its growth targets for 2015.

Harris Construction Management (HCM), a multi-disciplinary organisation that has two operating divisions - HCM Projects and HCM Interiors - is on track to exceed its turnover target of £50 million by the end of this year, which is more than a 50% increase on the previous year.

Jason Adlam, Chief Executive of HCM, says: “Our impressive increase in well managed profitable turnover is a direct result of a controlled strategic five-year growth plan that has seen us employ ten more people this year alone.

“In previous years the majority of projects would fall within the £1million to £3million bracket, but we have recently secured several new high-profile contracts with blue chip clients with individual values of between £7million and £8million in certain key driven sectors. These wins combined with an upturn in the market, has meant a significant increase in the average value of each project we are working on, whilst we continue to satisfy the requirements of our existing customers.

“All existing and new business won by HCM Projects and HCM Interiors is managed by our highly experienced staff and we plan to expand our team, which already stands at more than 50 employees, further before the end of the year.”

HCM, which is based in South Elmsall, predominantly operates in the private sector delivering industrial, commercial, residential and retail schemes and has delivered consecutive year on year profitable growth, combined with zero debt or borrowing since its formation seven years ago.

Recent contract wins for HCM Projects include a £7 million project to design and build a new extension for Britvic Soft Drinks at the company’s Swinnow Lane site in Bramley near Leeds; an £8 million design and build warehouse project in Dartford, Kent for Bericote Properties and Asda; a £2 million repair scheme on a North Wales Shopping Centre for a property investment firm; a £4 million design and build project to create a 10,000 square foot storage facility in Scunthorpe for manufacturer Can-Pack UK; a project for Premier Inn in Sunderland to complete a 125 bedroom hotel and a new staff shop for Next plc at Armthorpe near Doncaster.

Recently the firm has also completed a new dealership for the iconic Harley Davidson brand on Meadow Lane in Nottingham, further emphasising the diverse service provided by HCM.

HCM Interiors has delivered 12 new Nando’s restaurants throughout the UK and has recently started on site with a tenth new restaurant for Goodman’s Burger & Lobster after recently fitting out the up-market chain’s fifth floor restaurant in Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge. Work has also started on site to provide a new bar and restaurant for The Alchemist on Greek Street in Leeds.
