New live music show in production in Newcastle
A Newcastle-based film-maker and music producer is launching a new online live music show which will be filmed and produced in the city.
The Unsigned Arch is the brainchild of Isaac Parker and will be broadcast weekly, showing live performances by unsigned bands and musicians from across the North.
Isaac Parker said: “It’s more than 30 years since The Tube was filmed in Newcastle and the city today is such as hotbed of musical talent that we thought the time was right for another live music show to be made here.”
The show will be filmed in front of a live studio audience in Newcastle’s Ouseburn Valley. Each episode broadcast will include a performance, along with interviews and backstage footage.
Isaac added: “The live music industry is booming in the region – we have world-class music venues and renowned artists playing here. My aim is to build the profile of all the new, unsigned music which is also being produced here and help to establish the region as the place for musicians to launch their careers.”
Some of the acts that are already lined up to appear on The Unsigned Arch include Newcastle-based singer-songwriter Sam Thomas, Billingham’s Mouses, and Newcastle’s Lauren Lowes and Casual Threats.
The Unsigned Arch is launching a Kickstarter campaign, starting on 20 July, to help support the first year’s production of the show, which aims to feature at least 25 musicians.
The first episode of The Unsigned Arch will air in September.
