Sunderland’s FootcareUK focuses on North East recruitment following soaring growth
FootcareUK.com, a Sunderland-based internet retailer, is set to grow sales to £2m, doubling its turnover from £1m in 2014.
The family run business, set up by leading Sunderland podiatrist Jeremy Hepworth, has experienced accelerated growth in the past five years reaching the landmark £1m annual turnover in 2014, a 1400% increase from £80k in 2010.
The North East company has also expanded its online operations, establishing the brand as a specialist footcare retailer on Amazon and Ebay, attracting new business opportunities from across the globe, with servicing key markets including Germany, Australia and South Africa.
Chris Hepworth, Operations director, said: “The growth we have experienced is phenomenal especially being a relatively small family business based in Sunderland.
“Online market places such as Amazon and eBay have become critical channels to a global marketplace, extending our ability to service increasing demands for specialist footcare products across the globe.”
The company has also recruited ten new staff across key operational departments including dispatch, marketing and customer services and plan to further support their forecasted growth with the creation of more local jobs in the next twelve months.
Paul Hepworth, Marketing director, said: “Our rapid growth and increased sales has created opportunities to increase our workforce and attract the best local talent across key areas of our business.
“Footcare UK is committed to ensuring that Sunderland is recognised as contributing to the growth of digitally focused businesses in the North East and we will continue to focus our efforts on recruiting within the region.”
“We are currently looking to relocate to larger office and storage premises to ensure we continue to deliver our trademark quality customer service while providing a great working environment for our talented teams across the business”.
