New North Tyneside training centre set to energise the North East gas industry

IGNITE Gas Training, a new gas training and assessment centre, has launched in North Tyneside.

Specialising in domestic and nondomestic courses, the company supports those looking for a career move into gas, plumbers looking to up-skill, as well as supporting existing heating engineers needing to update or expand their portfolios.

Brett Garrick, Director of IGNITE Gas Training, made the decision to set up the centre after managing a gas assessment centre, for a construction company, for several years.

Brett wanted to create a centre that provided quality training and assessments, within a state-of-the-art facility, at affordable prices for sole traders and organisations who employ heating engineers.

He explained: “I feel the last several years’ experience in gas engineering and gas training has equipped me the skills to design and construct IGNITE Gas Training, which has been a fantastic experience.

“It has allowed me to put into place best practises and ensure that the centre is a great training facility for engineers and those new to the trade. With 3 classrooms and plenty of practical training space, IGNITE promises a great learning environment and will pride itself on small group sizes to ensure personalised learning can be effectively achieved.”

IGNITE Gas Training are also keen to support organisations across the construction, facilities management and housing sectors.

Brett continued: “We don’t just offer courses for gas engineers and maintenance teams. We also courses for anyone who would like to know more about gas compliance and gain a greater awareness of the industry. This includes offering short courses also in energy efficiency and legionella.

“It is important that IGNITE too supports the public and local community. We are here to help others be more gas aware and safe, spot dangers and risks such as carbon monoxide.

“That is why we are supporting ‘Gas Awareness’ week on the 19th and 20th of September and will be open all weekend to provide advice to members of the public and organisations on how to be more gas aware. We will soon be launching a dedicated page for the public on our website.”
