Car retailer Vantage to create jobs with new Mazda dealership
Car retailer Vantage Motor Group is set to construct a new site and create nearly a dozen jobs in Oldham after striking a new deal with Japanese automaker Mazda.
The company, which has more than 20 dealerships across the North and the West Midlands, has been chosen as the official Mazda dealer in Oldham. Now, Vantage plans to invest £500k in the launch of a new dealership, called Vantage Mazda Oldham, that will create 10 jobs in the town.
The deal will also see the firm’s turnover increase by £8m, as Vantage expects the new centre to sell 500 cars per year.
The managing director of Vantage, Mark Robinson, said: “We are very excited about adding Mazda to the brands we are proud to represent, and it couldn’t come at a better time as Mazda continues to evolve by adding fantastic new products like the Mazda2 and CX-3, and the all-new MX-5 which is set to join the line-up soon.”
Founded 12 years ago in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, Vantage Motor Group already works with automakers Citroen, Lexus, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, ŠKODA and Honda. At the end of 2014, the firm reported a turnover of £174m.
