NJL Consulting Achieves Planning Consent for Unite The Union HQ in Birmingham
NJL Consulting has helped Unite the Union to achieve planning consent for its new National Education and Conference Centre in Birmingham.
The Manchester-based planning consultancy saw success on its detailed planning application on behalf of the union, which encompassed the conference centre, a 170-bed hotel and regional headquarters for the organisation.
The scheme will contribute to the redevelopment of Birmingham Science Park Aston, located within the Eastside regeneration zone of Birmingham city centre.
Commenting on the success of the application, Juan Murray, Senior Environmental Planner, at NJL Consulting said:
“We worked closely with Birmingham City Council, who added valuable input into the design iteration from the outset, and believe the new Unite headquarters will stand as a valuable contribution to the regeneration of this area of the city.”
Mike Ryder, Director at project managers Purple Apple Management, added: “NJL Consulting worked very closely with the development project team and Birmingham City Council Planners and helped to achieve a very satisfactory Planning Permission for Unite The Union on this high profile National Education and Conference Centre with associated Hotel. We were delighted with the way NJL worked to achieve this Planning Permission.”
The architect on the project was Consarc Design Group.
