Work begins on new engineering facility project at Teesside Estate
UK Land Estates has announced the commencement of a new engineering facility project for Cavotec UK Ltd, in the latest phase of a multi-million pound refurbishment programme at Teesside Estate.
Part of the Cavotec engineering group, Cavotec UK is the local manufacturing and sales company for the Group’s electrical power service. It Controlling technologies for mobile equipment in airports, ports and maritime,the business has agreed a 26,000sqft pre-let in the estate.
The refurbished unit will see the existing envelope replaced with modern materials providing a far more energy efficient building fitted with new bespoke offices, break out areas and meeting rooms.
STP Construction, who successfully tendered for the contract, has started working on the refurbishment and is due to complete the project in late November.
So far UK Land Estates has invested over £5m into buildings on the estate and with the additional £3m invested into the new entrance, it has given the estate a new lease of life.
Adrian Bartle, Director of UK Land Estates, said: “We have worked extensively with Cavotec over the last 12 months to fully understand their business and ensure they have the ideal premises. Cavotec will be the first new tenant to benefit from the immediate access to the A19 with dualling of the A174 also nearing completion.”
Tim Witty, Development Director at UK Land Estates added: “Confidence is growing and lettings are going well on the estate, and with our investment so far we are seeing a great deal of interest for new premises on the estate.
“Teesside Estate is a great location but clearly the opening of the dualled A174 has transformed connectivity creating even stronger appeal for this location.”
