SweetTree manager invited to judge National Care Awards

An award-winning service manager from SweetTree Home Care Services has been asked to put her experience and knowledge to good use as a judge for the National Care Awards 2015.

Dela Begum, learning disabilities service manager at SweetTree, was named Special Needs Manager of the Year at the prestigious industry awards last year. She has now been invited to help recognise other exceptional individuals working in the care sector, as a judge for the same category.

The National Care Awards are organised by The Caring Times and have been highlighting excellence in the care sector for over 17 years.

Dela commented: “Having the opportunity to be part of an event dedicated to encouraging excellence in our sector is a great honour. I hope these awards encourage more people to pursue a career in the care sector, helping to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities.”

SweetTree, which has offices based in central London and Richmond, provides person-centred care at home and in the community for individuals with a wide range of care needs. In her role as service manager, Dela has been responsible for developing the company’s specialist learning disabilities service which offers tailored support to those with learning disabilities, autism and complex behavioural needs.

The company has been recognised by the British Institute for Learning Disabilities (BILD) for its learning disabilities training programme and was the first home care provider in the UK to achieve the highly regarded AIM Awards Quality Mark for its in-house training programmes.

This year’s award winners will be announced at the National Care Awards gala being held at Hilton London Metropole on Friday 27 November 2015. The event will be hosted by Hugh Dennis, star of TV’s Mock the Week and BBC comedy Outnumbered.
