Dragonfly Ball Lands at Matfen Hall

The Dragonfly Ball is back for its fifth year and will be returning to the beautiful Northumberland countryside within the grounds of the award-winning Matfen Hall Hotel.

The popular annual event is organised by Josie’s Dragonfly Trust, a North East charity which brightens the lives of children and young people with cancer.

Set to be held on Saturday 19th September, this spectacular evening will be the first of its kind to be held at the country mansion which has recently been awarded Large Hotel of the Year at the Visit England Awards.

Guests will be wined and dined by some of the best hospitality in the country and entertained with a medley of live acts planned throughout the evening.

Only attendees at the Dragonfly Ball will have the chance to bid on the fantastically eccentric and unique experiences the north east has to offer in the auction.

One lucky guest will quite literally fly away with two return flights to any European destination topping the raffle prize list to raise vital funds or the charity.

Josie’s Dragonfly Trust has gone from strength to strength since its birth in 2007 as the brainchild of teenager, Josie Grove, as she was facing her own terminal cancer diagnosis.

Now almost in its ninth year, Josie’s Dragonfly Trust has helped in excess of 640 children and young people create precious and lasting memories with their family in their final weeks together.

The Dragonfly Ball, which has gained a following in the region, is an extremely important event for the charity, not only for raising the funds to meet the continuous requests, but also as a celebration of how far the charity has come since its humble beginnings as the final wish of a local 16 year old.
