Rotherham gazebo firm hit record breaking sale figures
A Rotherham-based marquee and gazebo supplier has increased staff numbers and extended opening times after seeing sales soar to an all-time high.
The sales of Gala Tent Ltd have hit record breaking figures since the company was formed in 1999, and Jason Mace, managing director, believes this significant increase is down to mid-week sales.
In May, June and July sales on Wednesday had increased by 36% compared to last year with Gala Tent now extending opening hours to include evenings and Saturdays to meet demand.
Although the majority of Gala Tent’s sales come from telephone orders, the company has seen another shift in patterns as customers are now choosing to place their mid-week orders from online handheld devices.
This comes after Gala Tent recently launched a new fully mobile compatible website to strengthen its e-commerce offering.
Due to the increase in sales, Gala Tent has recruited four new web developers, two sales advisors and a customer service advisor.
Jason Mace, managing director, said: “Over the past 12 months we’ve noticed a 36% increase in sales on Wednesdays compared to 2014. During this time we have expanded internationally, with 11 new international distributors and I believe that this could partially account for this upturn.
“The UK economy is stronger and there is a real growing confidence in spending. However, times have changed and in 2015’s fully digital world, customers want to be able to place their order at a time convenient to them. Gala Tent has responded to that demand and is now reaping the rewards.”
