Yorkshire house-builder scoops two awards

Yorkshire house-builder, Daniel Gath Homes, has won two prestigious industry awards for quality and design within the space of a month.

Four luxury detached homes at The Chase in Bishopthorpe scooped Best Residential Development (Large) at the York Design Awards 2015. A few weeks earlier Daniel Baines won Site Manager of the Year (North & East Yorkshire Region) at the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Site Manager Awards 2015 in recognition of his work at the company’s Clayhithe development in Easingwold.

Daniel Liddell of Daniel Gath Homes said: “We are delighted to receive official industry recognition for our approach to design and construction with these two awards. The York Design Award was judged in terms of quality of design and build, context, materials and workmanship, sustainability and ability to delight – Daniel Gath Homes strive to excel in those criteria at every development we build. We are grateful for the vital contribution of our architect, Brian Scott Designs, and our planning expert, John Howlett, in helping us to achieve this award.”

“Daniel Baines joined Daniel Gath Homes a year ago and Clayhithe was his first development for us - he did an outstanding job and richly deserves the LABC Award. The award was subject to a comprehensive assessment at different key stages and reflects Daniel’s excellence in construction and his exceptional site management and his team’s workmanship. Daniel has now moved on to The Croft, our new development in South Milford, and I’m sure that he will maintain the same award-winning standards there.”

Mike Swatton, LABC Head Judge, said: “The quality and standard of the nominees across the board has been unprecedented, once again raising the bar for next year’s nominees.”
