Spillard heads to RWM with blind spot message

A Wolverhampton-based mobile safety specialist is looking to help visitors at the RWM exhibition remove the dangers of blind spots on their vehicle.

Spillard Safety Systems, which employs 22 people at its R&D and manufacturing centre in Four Ashes, is making its debut at the show in September (15-17th) and has a passion for reducing the number of injuries and deaths that occur from accidents caused by drivers experiencing restricted vision.

Experts from the company will be on Stand 5W80, displaying its innovative range of products to more than 13,000 visitors in a bid to help the waste and recycling industry improve a safety performance that is one of the worst in the UK.

Delegates will be able to discuss new mirror technology, high class camera systems and warning equipment.

“Using this technology to eliminate the blind spots before they can cause injuries is something we are very passionate about,” explained Craig Spillard, Director at Spillard Safety Systems.

“It is important to educate people on this problem and fit new innovative technologies to aid workers in the waste and recycling sector in completing their jobs safely.”

He continued: “We determine what the best solution is by offering free visibility studies, which allows us to clearly show where the driver’s vision is impaired.

“RWM is a huge event for the industry and we’re looking forward to our presence. In addition to the technical expertise we can offer, we’re very proud to be discussing our 360 surround view camera system, called Optronics 360, that provides the operator with an all-round image of their vehicle from a birds-eye view on a single screen.”

Waste industry expert of fleet management solutions business Fleet Inc Ltd, Rob Stubbs, has tapped into Spillard Safety Systems technical expertise in the past.

“The company has a lot to offer the sector, not least in the way it can offer bespoke solutions using its own quality, water tight cabling and its own team of service engineers who can fit to all types of vehicle and equipment.”

“From experience, service is greatly valued within the industry and support for customers is all offered internally, giving them peace of mind that any issues are taken care of with the minimal amount of fuss.”

Spillard Safety Systems has evolved into one of the UK’s largest mobile safety equipment suppliers to the construction, quarrying and mining industries, with a customer base ranging from global conglomerates to original equipment manufacturers.

The company is hoping that its appearance at RWM will create new opportunities in the recycling and waste management sector, helping it take turnover from £3m to £4m by the middle of 2016.
