Rocket Centre Raise £1000 For NW Air Ambulance

Lancashire’s largest motorcycle dealers are helping air ambulances take to the skies by raising almost £1000 for a North West Charity.

All proceeds from the Rocket Centre’s Open Day raffle and children’s rides raised an incredible £916.64 for the North West Air Ambulance. What’s more, the Open Day raised awareness and funds for the North West Blood Bikes (Lancashire & Lakes) organisation.

Liz Greenwood, Regional Fundraiser for Manchester and East Lancashire at the North West Air Ambulance Charity, said: “We wouldn’t be here without local companies like the Rocket Centre supporting us so we would like to thank everyone who attended the Open Day for their generosity. It’s great to see funds raised by a variety of different ways and as a charity that is totally reliant on donations, such fundraising is fundamental in keeping our helicopters flying allowing our doctors and paramedics to make a life-changing difference.“

Mark Cottom, Marketing Manager at The Rocket Centre, added: “The 11th annual Open Day was a huge success; it was enjoyed by everyone from children to adults and all the famous riders that attended. Raising lots of money for charity was the icing on the cake and we couldn’t be more thrilled for such worthwhile causes.“

Eurosport commentator and ex-racer, Jamie Whitham was back once again as the event host, with the main attraction a death-defying, must-see Vertical Trix Stunt Team Display.

A great line up of riders attended including BSB Suzuki Riders, World Superbike Aprilia Rider, and James Ellison- BSB JG Speedfit Kawasaki Rider.

Thousands of participants got involved with the display trucks from Oxford; and motorbike brands Arai and Shark offered expert advice on helmet servicing. There was also lots of special offers throughout the showroom on all brands including Alpinestars clothing, bikes and accessories.

Nick Soye, motorbike journalist for Sky Sports, The Mirror and The Sun, said of the event: “If Carlsberg did motorcycle open days, then it would have to be the Rocket Centre. Great job by all.“
