Steffen’s raising a giggle for grasslands

Local stand-up comedian Steffen Peddie will be raising laughs and, in turn, raising funds for rare grasslands with Northumberland Wildlife Trust this October. Perhaps best known for playing lovable Big Keith in the 2012 BBC sitcom ‘Hebburn’, along with Vic Reeves, Gina McKee and Chris Ramsey, Steffen built his career performing as a comedian in the North of England, and, along with Ross Noble, he wrote and performed sketches on ITV’s children’s Saturday Morning Show ‘Gimme 5’.

A keen member and supporter of Northumberland Wildlife Trust and its conservation work around the Region, the Trust approached Steffen with an offer that was just too good to refuse… a comedy night with his fellow comedians in aid of the Save our Magnificent Meadows (SOMM) project. Naomi Waite, Northumberland Wildlife Trust Conservation Officer and Save our Magnificent Meadows Project Officer says: What a great alternative way to raise money for what is seen as a boring subject - grasslands. The money will be used to save some of the rarest plants in the country, so come on, buy your ticket now - it will be a fiver well spent.“

Tickets cost £5.00 and are now available from Northumberland Wildlife Trust headquarters at St Nicholas Park in Gosforth, Newcastle, at Northumberlandia in Cramlington or from The Stand itself. Buy now to be guaranteed a great night of entertainment.
