Bowcliffe Hall enjoys surge in business tenants

Bowcliffe Hall - the headquarters of the Bayford Group, which is marking its centenary in 2019 - has witnessed an increase in the number of businesses moving into its refurbished office space following a spectacular £6m restoration.

Encore Wealth is among a trio of businesses who have recently joined existing tenants including recruitment solution specialist, Online Resourcing and property consultant practice Fordy Marshall, at the Grade 2 listed hall - the former ancestral home of aviation pioneer Robert Blackburn, who played host to high profile guests including aircraft pioneer Amy Johnson, media proprietor Lord Northcliffe, RAF officials and national politicians such as Winston Churchill.

The multi-phase transformation of the 200 year old hall also features the award-winning Blackburn Wing conference and event venue and boasts the Bowcliffe Drivers’ Club, a private members club for business tenants and guests, which captures the golden age of motoring.

Greg Thomson, owner of Encore Wealth, said: “I’m really enjoying being based at Bowcliffe Hall. It is a great place to run a business and our clients appreciate meeting in the Drivers’ Club, which houses one of the UK’s largest collections of motoring art.”

Lucinda Jennings, property & development director, commented: “More businesses are attracted to working in this unique environment, which is not only set in stunning surroundings, but also has a wonderful community feel to it – a running club, weekly Pilates classes and a car valeting service are just some of the facilities we are happy to make available for tenants.

“We’ve also converted a cricket pavilion that once housed Italian prisoners during the Second World War, and features in a definitive guide to 50 of Britain’s most unusual cricket pavilions - into 1,120 sq ft of modern offices, which is attracting much interest.”
