Slingsby Is In The Pink

WORKPLACE equipment supplier Slingsby has sold hundreds of a special pink container trolley that it launched last year in support of Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice’s 40th anniversary and the company now plans to make the product a permanent part of its range.

Slingsby donates £1 to the hospice each time it sells one of the lightweight trolleys, which have a 35kg capacity making them ideal for moving books, files and other bulky objects and means they are particularly popular with office workers, teachers and the healthcare industry.

Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice is based at Oxenhope near Keighley and provides palliative care and complementary therapy services to support people with life limiting illnesses living in Craven, Airedale, and Wharfedale as well as central, northern and western areas of Bradford. The hospice’s care also focuses on supporting patients’ family, friends and carers.

Dominic Slingsby, Managing Director of Slingsby which supplies more than 35,000 workplace products across all industries, explains: “This trolley is extremely popular and we’ve been selling it in blue and black for over 10 years. However, they are available in all colours and we regularly receive orders from organisations wanting them in specific corporate colours so we decided to push the boat out and start making them in bright pink.

“The hospice is a local organisation that does a fantastic job making a huge difference to people in the region who are suffering from a wide range of illnesses so it’s great to support them with a donation each time we sell one of these trolleys. They have proved to be very popular so we’re delighted to make them a permanent part of our 35,000 strong product range.”

Harriet Wood from Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice says: “Every day we need to raise £5,000 to stay open and continue providing the incredible level of care in our local community that we have become renowned for. Slingsby’s pink trolleys look fantastic so it’s great that they are proving popular and that we will continue to benefit from them.”
