Pensioner’s home saved thanks to Yorkshire stairlift manufacturer

A pensioner faced leaving the house she’d loved for 22 years after arthritis struck and affected her mobility.

Enid Williams (89) from Deganwy near Llandudno lived for her beautiful sea view but her reduced mobility meant getting up the steep steps to her front door was becoming an insurmountable task. After losing her husband to prostate cancer, she now faced the excruciating task of putting their beloved house on the market.

“Nine years ago when my husband was extremely poorly, his mobility was badly affected and he couldn’t walk. We had a bad experience with another stairlift company whose product wasn’t suitable for use outside the house. My husband sadly passed away and the stairlift was removed.”

Almost a decade later, Enid now needs a stick to walk after her own mobility deteriorated following severe pain in her knees.
