Aldi store opening on Gillingham Business Park
Aldi Stores, the German supermarket with two supermarkets already in the Medway Towns have proposed to construct another store in Gillingham Business Park.
The German supermarket have been assumed as a planned tenant of a brand new retail unit proposed for the Gillingham site. The area that will be redeveloped to make way for the Aldi supermarket and another empty unit is the previous address for Harveys Furniture. The elevations portray the Aldi shaped logo within the signage that will be on the building.
The Harveys Furniture store has been available to rent for a long period of time and due to it not being rented or alternatively, the existing unit not being for purpose, it will be demolished and redeveloped. The rest of the retail park here has also been redeveloped in recent years, with Family Bargains and Iceland being built only a couple of years ago.
The planning permission has been approved with conditions and now it is just a waiting game with the landlords, builders and planning authority for the store to be built and be operational.
