Liverpool Marriott hosts seventh Walking With Giants Convention
As part of its commitment to helping local causes, Liverpool Marriott has hosted its seventh convention for the Walking With Giants Foundation, welcoming families from around the globe and helping to raise more than £1,000 throughout its partnership with the charity.
Based in Merseyside, the Walking With Giants Foundation offers to help individuals and families affected by primordial dwarfism and works in partnership with Liverpool Marriott Hotel to bring people together from all walks of life who have the condition, as well as offering support to their families.
The annual function, held at the four-star city centre hotel, offers a chance for parents of children with primordial dwarfism to find out more about the condition and discuss any concerns with medical experts, as well as providing support to families.
This year’s convention saw 35 families attend from around the world, with the chance to network, relax, and enjoy what Liverpool has to offer. The 2015 fundraiser included a ‘show of painted hands’ where guests were given the opportunity to leave painted handprints and heartfelt messages on a donations board.
Ludwig Duweke, General Manager at Liverpool Marriott, said: “We’ve hosted the annual convention for Walking With Giants for the sixth year running and we’re proud to do our part in serving the local community.
“The Walking With Giants Foundation plays a pivotal role in the lives of people all over the world and we are keen to do all we can to help such a worthy cause. We want to help the foundation increase its funding and the annual function is a great way to bring people together and offer them the support that they may need.”
The Liverpool Marriott has a wide range of event packages, specially created with charities in mind.
