MP’s visit marks significant investment for West Yorkshire engineering firm

A Holme-Valley based specialist engineering firm his now set for growth following a visit from Member of Parliament for Holme Valley, Colne Valley and Lindley, Jason McCartney where it received a £70k capital investment grant from Leeds LEP.

Although Meltham Thermal Engineers (MTE) was established in mid-recession, the firm has grown each year and as a result, reached capacity in its current home.

To fulfil its full growth potential, MTE is relocating to a purpose built factory premises in Slaithwaite in early 2016.

The 34,000 sq ft unit will give MTE an additional 12,000 sq ft of useable space, which will house two new, state-of-the-art Ipsen furnaces with space to add a third within two years.

The £70k LEP grant will partially fund these furnaces, which will be the first in the UK. They are set to increase capacity by 25%, whilst reducing running costs by 50% due to their extreme efficiency.

This capital investment will create 7 new jobs, and take the total growth investment by the business to £3.5m.
