Campanile Hotel Birmingham to host charity night for children's hospital
People are being invited to party hearty at a local charity night in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
The fundraising event will take place at Campanile Hotel Birmingham in Chester Street, Aston, between 7.30pm and midnight on Saturday, September 12.
The evening celebrations will include a DJ and disco as well as entertainment provided by Castle Vale’s Got Talent winner, Skye’s The Limit.
The father and daughter duo, Steven and Skye McVey, won the regional talent show this year after wowing judges and the audience with a grand finale performance that combined rap, ballad, rock and dance.
A range of exciting competitions and activities will also be held on the night including a raffle with prizes for adults and children.
The event is the brainchild of Campanile staff member Becky Collins, who wanted to show her gratitude to Birmingham Children’s Hospital after her son Harrison received treatment there.
She said: “Harrison suffers from a rare condition called Loeys Dietz Syndrome which affects connective tissues throughout the body.
“He has been treated at the hospital since he was born and underwent major surgery there in January.
“I quickly realised what an amazing job the doctors and nurses do and wanted to raise money for the Hospital so that it continue to provide excellent care to other children and families.
“My niece Charlie Miller and I were thinking of things we could do to help raise money for the hospital and we were really happy when the manager at Campanile said we could host a charity night there.
“Charlie has organised all of the entertainment and activities and I can’t wait to see Skye’s the Limit perform. We have already raised £180 from ticket sales and look forward to welcoming guests on the night.”
Angel Resmella, general manager of Campanile Hotel Birmingham, said he is looking forward to helping Becky raise vital funds for the charity.
He said: “This is the first time the hotel has held a charity night and it is fantastic to be raising money for a charity which has supported one of our staff members for many years.
“We have all heard about the fantastic treatment Harrison has received and have supported Becky with her fundraising efforts in the past. Hopefully we will be able to raise even more money for the charity this time round.”
Ticket prices for the evening cost £4 for adults, £2 for children and £10 for families of four. Tickets are available from Charley Miller on 07557042440 and can be purchased on the door on the night.
