HP reveals HP Go Global Awards 2015 winners

HP today announced the winners of the HP Go Global Awards 2015 as, Kit for Kids, a company producing education and development tools for children and Eyetease, a digital media company creating taxi-based broadcast and advertising.

The ‘Breakthrough Exporter of the Year Award,’ awarded to Kit for Kids, recognises their success making the difficult jump into the international export market during the last five years. Meanwhile, ‘Next Breakthrough Exporter of the Year,’ went to Eyetease, for showing great potential to expand their business internationally within the next 12 months.

Kit for Kids, who are based in Sevenoaks, Kent, supply parents, nurseries and schools with products to support child development and growth. Specialising in cot mattresses and primary education equipment, the company has a history of UK success, winning multiple awards for the quality of its products. The company has already made impressive progress the international export market, establishing themselves in the Middle East and North America since 2011. The judges felt that through a well thought out strategy, a true understanding of the different markets and a passion for the growth of the company, Kit for Kids has made sure their global export strategy is a success and they will continue to go from strength to strength.

The ‘Next Breakthrough Exporter’ winner Eyetease is an innovative media and technology company creating digital media solutions for taxis. Since their launch in 2010, they have launched the world’s first digital rooftop advertising, ‘iTaxitop’, and high-speed Wi-Fi for taxis, ‘CabWifi’. The judges were blown away by the level of detail and the clarity of their export plan. From the market research, to the financials, the resourcing, the manufacturing of parts and the sound financial backing, they left no stone unturned and no doubt as to their future success as an exporter.

“We are delighted to recognise the ambition and achievement of the winners of this year’s HP Go Global Awards. Breaking into the international export market can represent a real challenge for many small businesses and both of the finalists have demonstrated a clear commitment and passion to international expansion,” said Susan Bowen, Chief of Staff, HP, UK & Ireland.

“At HP we are proud of our ongoing work with the SMB community, supporting their growth in the UK and internationally. We look forward to seeing the progress and continued success of this year’s entrants and winners.”

Jan Van Der Velde, CEO at Kit for Kids, said on receiving the award, “I’m delighted to receive the award for ‘Breakthrough Exporter of the Year’ as it’s testament to the hard work put in by all of our team over the last 12 months.
