Increased buoyancy in North East engineering industry pays dividends for Redcar firm
Haden Freeman Ltd, a Redcar-based engineering company, is set to expand its presence in the North East, following a series of lucrative contract wins in the region.
Having established its first office at the Wilton Centre in Teesside back in December 2014, the process industry engineering specialist is now expanding its team and will be taking new, larger premises at the science and technology complex.
The firm’s growth follows a successful start to 2015, which saw it secure business with some of the biggest manufacturers in the area, including the design and build of a £650k new effluent treatment plant for Teesside-based biopharmaceutical firm, Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies at its Billingham facility.
Originally a research study, this has expanded into a larger project which will enable effluent to be stored and disposed of responsibly, in line with Fujifilm’s commitment to the environment.
Wayne Baxter, Managing Director at Haden Freeman, attributes the success to the increased buoyancy and investment in the North East engineering and manufacturing industries.
He said: “Our North East business has continued to go from strength-to-strength since we established ourselves at the Wilton Centre at the end of last year.
“We’re delighted to have enjoyed such significant new business wins, which are not only driving our own growth, but are encouraging for the wider industry as a whole.
“We’re extremely optimistic about our future in the region and ultimately aim to expand our Teesside team to 20 members of staff in the next five years”.
