Nicholas Associates’ L&D consultancy sees significant employee growth

A Sheffield-based consultancy business has significantly grown in the past three years having increased its headcount by 400%.

The learning and development consultancy arm of Sheffield recruitment specialist Nicholas Associates was established in January 2012, when experienced consultants Kristi Hudson and Liz Bailey joined the business.

The team has now grown to now employ eight, five of which have been appointed in the last nine months. The team is also supported by a team of associates.

Due to the team increasing, so has the business’ specialisms. Through leadership, and learning and development consultancy, they work collaboratively with all their clients globally to enable them to lead more effectively and create value throughout their business.

The consultancy team now boasts clients across a variety of sectors both nationally and internationally, such as food and drink manufacturing, construction, telecommunications and travel & leisure. Clients include: Haven Holidays, Vandelande, Clugstons and Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Kristi Hudson, managing consultant, said: “In just three years we’ve grown to be a thriving team of highly-experienced consultants who are all passionate about helping people to fulfil their ambitions. The world of business is becoming increasingly competitive so it’s never been so important to ensure that you stay ahead of your game by continually expanding your knowledge and development. Our team will continue to grow as demand for L&D increases.”

Nicholas Associates had also invested in its first graduate recruit, Laura Ball, who started working with the consultancy in the run up to finishing her degree. She undertook her work placement at Mars in ‘Knowledge Connections’ before starting at the consultancy firm, where she is now supporting projects with blue-chip clients.

Laura said: “Driven by curiosity and creativity, I ventured into the field of L&D not only to design bespoke learning interventions, but to help organisations transform their perspectives of learning into a vehicle to fuel competitive advantage.”

Nicholas Associates recently opened a new office in the North East, headed up John Burluraux who has also joined the leadership team. John is now establishing the firm’s presence in the North East by building relationships with businesses in the region, focusing especially around his specialist areas of leadership, coaching and mentoring.

Headquartered in Sheffield, Nicholas Associates is an organisation that offers professional recruitment services, apprentice employment solutions and software development services.
