A new Revolución De Cuba bar and restaurant will be opening in Leeds at the end of October.

Revolución de Cuba to offer Leeds revellers a new Cuban twist

Leeds’ leisure scene is about to undergo a heat wave as Revolución de Cuba offers the public a new Cuban experience.

Occupying the space previously held by Baracoa Luxe Bar, the £1.5m Latin American rum bar and club will be the latest addition to the city’s ever-popular Call Lane.

Revolución de Cuba aims to offer a mix of the old school glamour vibe of the Buena Vista Social Club days of the 1930’s with a contemporary twist.

The daytime food and drink experience will turn into a Caribbean fiesta as t live music and dancing will take centre stage during the evening.

Creating 80 new jobs, the split-level venue will feature a main showpiece bar, live music stage, two upstairs bars and a 700 capacity club and function room.

Chris Sleaford, Leeds general manager, said: “I’m really excited to be bringing Revolución de Cuba to Leeds. The bar is really coming together and will look amazing when finished, think ‘Miami - meets - Cuba’, when you step through the door you forget whatever’s outside.

“We have a fantastic menu with Latin inspired food and rum based cocktails, and with live music the atmosphere will be something totally different. There really isn’t anything like it in Leeds already, and think it will be a welcome addition to the city”.

Customers will be able to choose from a wide range of cocktails outside of Havana, expertly shaken up by a well-trained team of cantineros, as well as a menu of Cuban inspired cuisine and bar snacks.

The head chefs have visited Cuba’s backstreets to take inspiration from some of Latin America’s most unique restaurants and eateries, enabling them to concoct an array of flavours.

Highlights from the diverse new menu includes a lime and soy marinated chicken chimichanga, Cuban style paella and baked sea bass served in a banana leaf with a Cuban salad.

Along with the tapas and side dishes on offer, the guacamole is made fresh in-house, using a secret blend of ingredients.

Clint Ghent, Revolución de Cuba brand manager, added: “Delivering the best customer experience is our sole mission and we do everything we can to achieve this. Whether you come in for a coffee or an evening out with friends, our team is there to entertain and serve our guests to the highest level possible”.
