The British Wildlife Photography Awards 2015

The British Wildlife Photography Awards proudly announce the winners for 2015. The Awards celebrate both the work of amateur and professional photographers and the beauty and diversity of British wildlife.

Winning images are chosen from thousands of entries in sixteen separate categories including a special film category for Wildlife in HD Video and three junior categories to encourage young people to connect with nature through photography.

Mark Carwardine, zoologist, writer, photographer and broadcaster said: “The British Wildlife Photography Awards has become one of the most anticipated events in the wildlife photography calendar. The bar in wildlife photography has already been raised to unimaginably high levels of sophistication, innovation and artistic vision, yet the standard somehow continues to get better and better. This latest collection of images is testament to the sheer level of interest in wildlife in Britain and, above all, the remarkable abilities of our wildlife photographers.”

Northumberland Wildlife Trust is particularly delighted that 10 year old Max Eve, from the Hexham area scooped first prize in the Under 12 Years Category with his photo of Blue-tailed Damselfly, Caerlaverock Wetland Centre, Dumfries, Scotland.

Max is no stranger to the wildlife charity as he won first prize in its 2014 North East Wildlife Photography Awards with his photo of a coot with its chick and first and second prize in its 2015 competition with his photos of a grouse in the snow and a caterpillar curled on a leaf.
