The North’s leading digital UX event returns to Manchester for its 5th year

Camp Digital, the leading event in the North with a focus on user experience (UX), is returning for its fifth year and businesses, digital professionals, and students are invited to attend.

The event, held in Manchester and organised by digital UX agency Sigma, is attended by over 350 people annually, and explores trends in the digital, design, and UX community.

Planning for 2016’s event is well underway, and attendees can expect to see sessions on topics including UX, digital transformation, accessible design, latest user research techniques, assisted digital, loT, CRO and customer experience.

Initial speakers for the 2016 event include Julie Dodd, digital consultant and author of ‘The New Reality’; Tom Loosemore, deputy director at UK Government Digital Service; Molly Watt, accessible tech evangelist and co-founder of The Molly Watt Trust; Coleman Walsh, Freelance UX consultant and owner and founder of UXTraining.com; Barry Briggs, senior UX architect at the BBC and organiser of NUX; and Dominic Hurst, digital services manager at Liverpool John Moores University. More speakers will be announced in the run up to the event.

A new Camp Digital website has been launched this week to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the event.

Shaun Gomm, commercial director at Sigma UK and host of Camp Digital, said: “According to this year’s Tech Nation report by Tech City UK, revenue for the digital sector is predicted to increase by 90% in 2016 alone – living proof that our industry is thriving. And as it’s recognised that the North is a hotbed for digital start-ups, it’s really important that we all get our heads together to discuss the progress our industry is making. Camp Digital has grown alongside the industry and does a great job of bringing the community together to explore the latest trends and issues facing the sector.

“It’s no secret that the digital industry is thriving in the North, but because of its fast pace a lot can happen within 12 months, and it can be difficult to keep up. That’s why it’s so useful to get together each year to discuss the trends we have seen coming through, and learn tips and tricks from the very best of the industry.

“The event has come so far since we set it up - due to popular demand, this year’s event is running across two days rather than just one, so the team and I are really looking forward to seeing what another year will bring. At the 2015 event we exceeded previous years in terms of attendees with over 350 people joining us, so we’re confident we’ll witness our most successful event to date next March!

Camp Digital will take place March 16th-17th 2016, and seminars and workshops are held across Manchester Town Hall and the Manchester Central Library.
