Oldham paint manufacturer enters Irish automotive market

James Briggs, the Greater Manchester-based aerosol and consumer chemicals manufacturer, has expanded its international reach with a new distribution deal in Ireland.

The Oldham firm signed an agreement with Team PR Reilly, one of the largest distributors of motor parts and accessories in Ireland, to make its Hycote brand of car paints available in the country.

Max Bass, James Briggs’ commercial director, said: “James Briggs has enjoyed exceptional growth since its management buyout two years ago and much of this has been through new distribution channels.

“We’re extremely pleased to enter the market in Ireland for the first time and it’s our expectation that this partnership, with the territory’s leading distributor, will prove long-lasting and fruitful.”

With the support of Leeds-headquartered Endless LLP, which has an office in Manchester, James Briggs is working to expand its presence in Europe. The deal with Team PR Reilly is the first time the company has entered the Irish market.
