UK Steel Enterprise invests £40k in Sheffield internet marketing agency

A Sheffield-based internet marketing services company has received a £40k funding boost from UK Steel Enterprise.

With this investment, Ignition Search will now be able to ‘significantly increase its revenue’, according to the firm’s Managing Director.

Ignition Search will also use the funds to appoint a dedicated marketing and sales department, as well as roll out a series of seminars in partnership with a number of Chambers of Commerce across the country.

The company, which is an official partner of Google, works with businesses to help increase sales enquiries and customer base through internet marketing services, search engine optimisation (SEO), Google AdWords management and conversation rate optimisation.

The £40k will allow Ignition Search to deliver the seminars which increase the availability of quality digital marketing knowledge at Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and to surrounding Chambers such as Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leeds.

This is the latest investment by UK Steel Enterprise, which provides funding for businesses in steel regions across the UK that are looking to expand, develop and improve.

Allan Wood from UK Steel Enterprise Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel, said: “Ignition Search has created a scalable business model which is not only providing a top-class service to customers, but is supporting local businesses too. We are pleased to support the company’s investment in their digital marketing programme which, in turn, will help move the business forward and educate others about internet marketing whilst also creating jobs in the region.”

Dan Kavanagh, managing director at Ignition Search, added: “The investment from UKSE has really helped us to drive the business forward and deliver a better quality service for our clients. By implementing ‘non-fee earning’ positions in the company our pipeline has increased exponentially whilst maintaining high standards operationally.”

Ignition Search has more than doubled its workforce over the past 18 months, and with the funding the company aims to have a team of 20 by 2016.

Ignition Search was introduced to UK Steel Enterprise by Greg Barker, sirector at Strategic Corporate Finance, who added: “Ignition Search had grown steadily for several years but this investment will allow it to accelerate its expansion plans considerably. Allan Wood immediately recognised the quality of the business and its potential, moving quickly to provide the required funding without fuss.”

The investment will enable the company to solidify the relationship and allow them to continue to use the Google facilities and resources to remain at the cutting edge of service for the benefit of their clients.
