Barnfield Construction secures £7.5m deal to build three North West business centres
Lancashire firm Barnfield Construction has signed a £7.5m deal to create three new centres across the North West for commercial property company Business First.
Padiham-headquartered Business First, which is part of the global Group First network of companies, will work with Barnfield to deliver office developments in Ellesmere Port, Trafford Park and Preston.
With work set to commence in 2016, the project will bring Business First’s total portfolio of centres to 12. The three new developments will be built on sites currently operated by the firm’s self-storage sister company, Store First
With designs from Burnley-based Craven Design, each floor across all three developments will have its own kitchen, meeting room, toilet facilities and communications centre.
Sarah Fretwell, an operations director with Business First, revealed that the firm plans to build an additional three centres every year between now and 2018.
She said: “There’s massive demand for our cool, modern business centres and there’s already huge excitement surrounding the next three locations.
“We have worked with Barnfield Construction on all of our centres to date. We have a fantastic working relationship with them – we trust them to deliver the very best every time as that’s what our business tenants expect and deserve.”
The last three centres opened by Business First in the last year, in Preston, Derby and Glasgow, are now all fully occupied.
