Change at the top for North Star

TEES VALLEY-based North Star Housing Group is celebrating the arrival of a new member of its Senior Management Team.

Rachel Taylor has joined North Star, which includes Endeavour and Teesdale Housing Associations, as group director of finance and ICT. And in the current eventful Housing Association world, her arrival could not have come at a better time.

Group chief executive Angela Lockwood said: “We are delighted to welcome Rachel to the team. As a business, we are continually investing in our people and strengthening our team so we can provide the best service for our Tenants. The summer budget has been challenging, but we’re confident we have weathered the storm.

“With her background in housing, ICT and finance Rachel brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to further strengthen the current senior team. We are always seeking out new opportunities and Rachel will have a strong role to play in that. As a Sunday Times Top 100 Company to Work For, we are ambitious and determined to continue to be at the top of our game.”

Rachel Taylor joins North Star from East Durham Homes. She is a Chartered Public Finance Accountant and has previously held senior roles at New College Durham and KPMG.

Rachel said: “I’m a firm believer in achieving Value for Money and targeting resources to ensure delivery of customer-focused services. It is a challenging time for the sector. However, North Star is in a strong position and I am looking forward to supporting the organisation to achieve its ambitious ‘Leading and Growing North Star to 2018’ vision.”
