Two Welsh Persimmon Homes managers scoop awards

Two site managers from Persimmon Homes East Wales have bagged themselves ‘Pride In the Job’ awards from the National House Building Council (NHBC).

David Jones who works at Persimmon Homes’ development Coed Dyffryn, Aberdare, and Cliff Thomas at The Boulevards near Newport were selected by judges for the quality of their sites.

Pride in the Job is a UK-wide competition dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house-building.

Coed Dyffryn is a scheme boasting one to four bedroom homes with prices starting from £149,995.

The Boulevards on the outskirts of Newport has a choice of two to four bedroom homes which start from £135,000.

Mr Jones, who has worked for Persimmon Homes for 16 years and was previously a Lance Corporal in the British Army, said: “It’s fantastic to win this award and to beat so many other sites and competitors while doing so.

“There is a number of phases involving inspectors and two rounds of shortlists before you are selected so I’m proud that all our hard work was recognised by the NHBC.”

Martin Smith, managing director for Persimmon Homes East Wales, added: “Congratulations must go to David and Cliff who have done a stellar job particular at these two developments.

“Our site managers across Persimmon East Wales region work very hard and it always pleasing when they are recognised in this way.

“It is an award that involves a great deal of scrutiny so credit must go to the team.”
