Liverpool-based Mobile GIS Services expands with new Science Park offices

A geospatial company is gearing up for the next stage in its growth strategy after moving to new offices in Liverpool.

Mobile GIS Services (MGISS), which recently hired five new employees, has taken space at Liverpool Science Park in an effort to carry out wider research and development projects with universities in the region.

Mike Darracott, the firm’s managing director, said of the move: “The Science Park’s strong links with the universities and wider research institutions makes it the perfect base for our new office, especially at a time when our team is growing.”

“We are also looking into technologies to partner with Sensor City.”

The firm has previously worked with existing tenants of the science park, including Liverpool John Moores University’s Open Labs and the GERI Outreach Project. It’s work with both saw MGISS investigating the application of drone technology in the power and environmental science sectors.

Following MGISS’ move, the occupancy level for both office and laboratory space at the site now stands at 87%.

The Science Park’s chief executive, Chris Musson, commented: “We’re delighted that Mike chose Liverpool Science Park as the new base for his business.
