Ryanair shareholders to gain €398m from Aer Lingus disposal
At its AGM yesterday, Ryanair announced its shareholders would reap €398m in spoils from the sales of its Aer Lingus stake earlier this year.
The budget airline agreed the sale of the Irish airline to British Airways-owner, International Airlines Group, this summer.
Ryanair is also increasing its full-year traffic forecasts to 104 million customers, from a previous estimate of 103m, while its profits guidance was boosted 25 per cent to €1.2bn.
Subject to EGM approval, the shareholders will receive the funds before December, the airport said.
Ryanair chairman David Bonderman said: “During our 30th year, Ryanair will grow traffic by over 13m to 104m customers.”
He added: “It is clear that consumers all over Europe are delighted by our ‘Always Getting Better’ customer experience programme, and our combination of low fares and customer service continues to deliver.”
