Northumberland luxury care home to create 50 new jobs

New luxury care home and day care facility, Baedling Manor in Northumberland is creating over 50 jobs.

The Bedlington-based site is set to open its doors early next spring, after an initial construction interruption following an unforeseen variation to planning.

The 50-bed home is also on a quest to find an experienced home manager to head up the team.

With 30 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, Alcyone Healthcare managing director Darren Taylor says he is committed to finding the right home manager and is dedicated to providing ongoing training and support for the new staff members across each of the positions.

“With any new home, it is essential that we get the right manager in place as a priority before recruiting the best quality of staff throughout all other areas of the home,” he said.

“We have shortlisted some of the other positions already from application forms that we kept on file previously. We are looking for more individuals who feel that they can make a difference to our residents and help us to create our vision of providing an environment that promotes choice, dignity, independence and most importantly, fulfilment within a luxurious environment and the wider community.

“Our model is very much based on supporting our residents to enjoy an active and fulfilling life in later years and to help support people to live well with dementia by creating bespoke care packages with a keen focus on a person’s abilities and what they can do as opposed to what they can’t.

“It gives us great satisfaction not only to be able to provide a high level of care, but also offer career opportunities to high-calibre individuals who are equally passionate about supporting people to live well to their full potential.”

The multi-million pound care facility will provide the highest level of residential and dementia care for up to 50 residents as well as providing an out-reach care package to guests requiring day care, overnight, respite and home care.

He added: “With the recruitment drive in full swing and the home now back on target to open in spring, we are very much looking forward to welcoming our first residents next year.”
