The Fabulous Frost Fair returns to the Wirral

The Fabulous Frost Fair is returning to the Wirral for the second year with a bigger venue and even more stalls.

The Fair - the North West’s premier Christmas event – is moving to the idyllic setting of Claremont Farm from 20-22 November.

The three day event will be officially opened by the Mayor of Wirral on Friday the 20th November and will then run until 4pm on Sunday 22nd November. Tickets cost £5 and children under 3 are free.

Over 6,000 visitors are expected and there will be more than 60 independent exhibitors from across the North West showcasing their beautiful and brilliant Christmas products.

There is an excellent array of top quality products such as handmade jewellery, freshly baked cookies, children’s clothing and toys as well as fine food and drink. Many products can be personalised or ordered on the day in time for a Christmas delivery.

A variety of workshops and demonstrations are planned as well as entertainment including a performance from the Voxpop choir on the opening night.

The event is being sponsored by North West law firm Hillyer McKeown, leading independent Wirral optician Harris Opticians and Smylies the award-winning export company from Bromborough.

After a successful launch last year, the event was shortlisted for ‘Event of the Year’ in the Wirral Tourism Awards and the team behind the fair hope to go one better this year.

Three friends who met as schoolgirls at West Kirby Grammar School are behind the Fabulous Frost Fair – sisters Tanya Leary and Soraya Corbett and their friend Ali Marshall.

Tanya said: “The Fabulous Frost Fair is all you need for a perfect Christmas. We’ve brought together the region’s best independent small businesses to create a magical market place where people can enjoy a drink, a shop, some food and perhaps some demonstrations and workshops.

“We’ve carefully considered the mix of demonstrations, exhibitors and products to ensure that there is something for everyone and tastes and budgets are catered for. Every single one of our exhibitors is from the region so we know we are supporting local businesses and keeping money in our communities.

“We are so passionate about the event and everything it stands for. It’s a great opportunity for family and friends to get together before the Christmas madness takes hold and to have a little festive fun.”

Soraya added: “We’re delighted to be bringing The Fabulous Frost Fair to Claremont Farm. This year there will be even more of a Christmas market theme with outdoor chalets selling food and drink and Christmas trees.

“There’s nothing like this on the Wirral and it’s our dream for The Fabulous Frost Fair to become an annual event in the Christmas calendar.”

Proceeds from the event will once again go to the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity and Wirral Food Bank. Last year, The Fabulous Frost Fair raised £3710 for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity and donated over 30kg of food to the Wirral Food Bank.
