Superhero launches business networking at Warwick Racecourse

A new business networking event at Warwick Racecourse is being launched by a real-life superhero.

World-record breaking adventurer Jamie McDonald, who has defied the odds to undertake phenomenal feats of endurance, will be the guest speaker at the inaugural event on Wednesday, October 7.

Local businesses will have the opportunity to hear Jamie’s inspirational talk and network in the prestigious 1707 Restaurant which boasts stunning views over the racecourse.

Having spent the first nine years of his life in and out of hospital as a result of suffering from a rare condition, Jamie has spent the last three years giving back to help others and is co-founder of the Superhero Foundation.

He has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for children’s charities and gives motivational talks around the world to inspire others with his experiences which include being the first person to run solo the 5,000 miles coast to coast across Canada and achieving the world record for marathon static cycling after pedalling for 268 hours.

Jamie, from Gloucestershire, said: “I love inspiring people and having never been to Warwick Racecourse I’m really looking forward to getting the chance to speak there.

“I am keen to share my story of beating the odds and proving that we are capable of so much more than many of us realise.”

The business networking event is being launched at Warwick Racecourse following its success at its sister Jockey Club Racecourse at Cheltenham.

Lee Moulson, acting general manager of Warwick Racecourse, said: “We are delighted to be launching our business networking event which we hope will become a regular fixture in the calendar at Warwick Racecourse.

“The event will give local professionals the opportunity to develop business contacts and experience our impressive range of facilities for corporate events from hospitality on racedays to hosting meetings and conferences throughout the year.

“It is fantastic to have secured Jamie McDonald as guest speaker at our inaugural event and businesses attending are bound to enjoy hearing about and learning from his epic international adventures.”

Tickets for the event, which will run from 7.45am to 9.45am and include a full English breakfast, are available at £14 by using the promotional code WKBB071015 when booking via the website at http://warwick.thejockeyclub.co.uk
