Eddisons team raises £1,000 for Macmillan at Brownlee Triathlon
Ian Harrington, Peter Roberts and James Green, all from the Leeds-based national building and project consultancy team at Eddisons, have raised £1,000 in sponsorship for Macmillan Cancer Support by taking part in last Saturday’s Brownlee super sprint triathlon at Harewood House. After a training programme that included regular 18-mile cycle commutes to and from work and open water swimming at the Blue Lagoon flooded quarry in Pontefract, the Eddisons trio all finished the 400m swim, 13km cycle and 3km run in under an hour and 20 minutes.
Ian Harrington, head of building and project consultancy at Eddisons, said: “We were really pleased to have all finished in the top half of the 300 super sprint competitors and we are even prouder to have helped raise some vital funds for Macmillan, which does so much essential work for people with cancer and their families across Yorkshire and beyond.”
