Ground Six partners with Rivers Capital to boost North East digital creative industry
Newcastle-based Ground Six has entered a collaborative partnership agreement with Rivers Capital Partners, an independent venture capital fund management company, to work together to more readily identify software and IT businesses suitable for growth, commercialisation and venture capital investment.
Established to explore high-growth online products and concepts, Ground Six has been at the forefront of software development in the region since 2012.
Managers of the £9m North East Angel Fund since its inception in 2010, Rivers are strong supporters of the region’s digital creative industry, complementing the vast range of web and app development and design support Ground Six offers.
Martin Stanley, Managing Director at Ground Six, said: “With a passion for all things digital we pride ourselves on being flexible enough to positively impact almost any given project.
“Our core is clean, modern development and design and we do everything from fund and support projects on an equity basis to engaging in very select commercial builds. The synergies between Ground Six activities and Rivers make this a natural fit and we are looking forward to helping more businesses succeed and grow.”
Jonathan Gold, Managing Director at Rivers, said, ‘As entrepreneurs ourselves Rivers know what it’s like to run a business, we strive to take the founders’ view.
“We bring a unique perspective to our investment decisions and our ambition is to break down the barriers to finance and assist as many ambitious businesses as we can to access the funding they need to thrive. Working closely with Ground Six will help more regional businesses to achieve their vision.’
The collaboration seeks to contribute significantly to the region’s economy by stimulating growth and investment activity in the digital creative industry.
