Street food brand opens debut restaurant at Seven Dials

Seven Dials is set to welcome meatball street food brand, The Bowler, later this month.

The Bowler’s debut restaurant will be located at a 518 sq ft site on 1 Monmouth Street, and will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, including a lunchtime fast-track service available from ‘The Fast Bowler hatch’.

Jez Felwick and founders of POLPO restaurants, Russell Norman and Richard Beatty, joined forces to create this dedicated ‘Meatball’ inspired shop, which previously traded from temporary locations in Shoreditch, KERB Spitalfields, and Street Feast London.

The Bowler is the latest addition to the evolving dining offer at Seven Dials and follows other brands announced this year, including artisan baking producer, Free Range People, Swedish bakery, Fabrique, and new café concept, 26 Grains.

Most recently, Vico, the new restaurant concept from the founders of Bocca Di Lupo, opened in late August at the Seven Dials gateway; Cambridge Circus.

Founder of The Bowler, Jez Felwick, commented on the new opening at Seven Dials: “’The Bowler is all about good, fast food – quality ingredients, careful cooking and having fun – and we wanted a location to reflect this for our first permanent shop.

“The small independent cafes and restaurants of Seven Dials made it the ideal choice and I’m delighted to be opening here amongst such wonderful neighbours as Monmouth Coffee and Home Slice Pizza.”

Also commenting on the signing and thriving dining scene at Seven Dials, Charles Owen, Portfolio Executive at Shaftesbury said: “The success of Seven Dials as a destination in its own right is driven by a strong retail and leisure mix. High footfall is generated by the attractive leading international retailers and exceptional independents, and is sustained by providing visitors with equally attractive places to eat, relax and take a break whilst shopping.”

“We will continue to strengthen Seven Dials’ dining offer and maintain the unique identity it has. Plans have currently been submitted to create a new restaurant unit on Earlham Street and exciting new concepts continue to join Seven Dials.”

JLL and Shackleton acted on behalf of Seven Dials. The Bowler dealt direct.
