Watt Utilities outlines plans to create 100 Manchester jobs
Commercial utility consultancy Watt Utilities has partnered with Greater Manchester’s Business Growth Hub to increase its staff levels and market share.
The Manchester-based firm, which works with energy suppliers such as Npower and British Gas, plans to create 30 jobs in the coming weeks after reviewing its business plan with a team from the Business Growth Hub.
The company’s director, Peter Hunter, said: “Sarah and the team at Business Growth Hub have really helped our business move into the next stage of our growth cycle.
“With the business aiming to supply some big commercial clients, the implementation of an efficient working environment is vital in order to achieve this.”
He added: “Business Growth Hub have provided our business with some valuable advice and the structure needed to securing new contracts.”
Now, Watt Utilities is on track to achieve a turnover of £15m by 2017 and intends to recruit a further 70 customer service advisors over the course of the next year.
Business Growth Hub advisor Sarah Ludford commented: “An effective recruitment strategy is vital for businesses that are looking to expand into new markets, ensuring they hire not only the highest calibre of staff, but those that match the values of the company.
“Creating a vibrant and interesting work environment also fosters growth, and we have seen many businesses stifle their expansion due to a lack of real incentives for staff to join or remain in the business.”
Sarah continued: “The firm is now in a position where it can take a real foothold of energy consultancy and Watt Utilities is looking strong for the future.”
