Long Established Skipton’s Sexton & Co Expands

A Skipton based hair, beauty and nail salon is expanding its premises to incorporate an ‘Urban Spa’ within its High Corn Mill base.

Sexton & Co is increasing its existing floor space by 600sqft so it can offer even more beauty treatments in its newly created spa area.

Said Tom Sexton, owner: “When I first opened the salon at 18, almost 12 years ago, I never imagined the success and positive response I have received from my clients.

“I wanted to create a one-stop shop for all hair and beauty needs and make the luxury spa experience more accessible to all - whether it’s a lunch break appointment or a day of pampering. We have now enhanced our treatment menu and the extension creates a greater feeling of space and relaxation.”

Sexton & Co now employs a total of six members of staff; Emma Day as salon manager, Karen Cowen as senior stylist, Eloise Foster as junior stylist, Linda O’Hagan as nail Technician and mii make-up artist, Claire Wilde as a facial aesthetic practitioner and owner of NuDerm, and latest addition Anne Marie Longmire as beautician, make-up artist and dermalogica skin specialist.

Situated in the heart of Skipton and just a stone’s throw away from the High Street, High Corn Mill has been an integral part of Skipton’s life for over 700 years with records dating back to 1310 and once formed part of the castle’s property. The mill’s offering for the 21st century is somewhat different to 700 years ago – educational fun and a selection of independent shops plus hair and beauty establishments.
