Merrion Centre expands fashion offering with D-Code creating 8 new jobs

Leeds’ Merrion Centre has once again added to its ever-growing fashion offering with the arrival of new fashion store D-Code.

Opening next to ShoeZone, Merrion Centre’s latest addition will create eight new jobs.

The new five-year lease between Merrion Centre owners Town Centre Securities PLC (TCS) and D-Code owners Far East Retail Ltd, for the 1,700 sq ft store, adds to the centre’s increasing number of fashion stores.

D-Code already has an established presence in Yorkshire with stores in Meadowhall and York, and also has found success online.

Zahid Ahmed, director at Far East Retail, said: “With stores in Sheffield and York we wanted to boost our Yorkshire profile and the Merrion Centre is the perfect place for us to set up in Leeds, as they have a diverse customer base and high footfall.”

D-Code is Merrion Centre’s newest fashion offering, and joins the likes of Select, which opened a store a few months ago, and Peacocks’ relocation into the centre last year.

In addition, the centre is also preparing to open the extension to the Morrsions store, incorporating the children’s Nutmeg clothing range.

Helen Green, associate director for TCS explained: “Our customers are looking for on trend clothing at reasonable prices and we’re fast becoming the go to place to get just that.”
